21C Museum Boutique Hotel

Standing tall and proud in the center of downtown Durham, North Carolina, 21C Museum Hotel is a multi-venue contemporary art museum offering a full-service boutique hotel with luxurious guest rooms, more than 10,500 square-foot of art-filled exhibition and event space, and home to Counting House restaurant. The historic Hill Building has 17 stories and was originally built in 1937 as a bank. It was designed by the same architecture firm that designed the Empire State Building. If you use the mezzanine floor restroom you will find that the wall is transparent. Step inside and lock the door, and the glass wall turns an opaque white. The construction was completed in March 2015. The mechanical value of the project is $6,000,000.
